 Recently signed by The Native Sound, June Pastel is the brainchild of Venezuelan-American composer and engineer Anthony Peña. Despite being labeled as Alternative/Indie, June Pastel’s music transcends the boundaries of both genre and language. Peña’s work combines indie with jazz, dreampop, and chamber music, English with Spanish, personal experience with group expression, and the real with the metaphysical. With lush melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and sundry sketches of influence, June Pastel presents a warm, rare potion of pensive and powerful, bringing the consumer into a charismatic universe representing the entwining of many thoughts and colors into one. June Pastel’s debut album Collages is slated for release this coming Friday, June 29, and they will begin their summer tour of both coasts in July.
